Stretched over three floors and an impressive 4000 sqft, Austiger House consists of four large bedrooms and sleeps up to 10 people. The house is recently renovated with walnut wood floors installed throughout and plenty of light coming in through the large windows. Every bedroom is en-suite and all bathrooms have also been newly renovated.
Recently Austiger House was enhanced with what we only can describe as an 'outdoor sanctuary'. Newly laid patio, heated swimming pool, comfortable lounge area as well as a lovely playground for our smallest guests.

Austiger House is located in the beautiful hamlet of Maidencombe, situated perfectly between Torquay and Teignmouth. Despite conveniently located between the two local towns with all necessary amenities, Maidencombe itself offers the most perfect rural setting for a relaxing stay.
We truly believe that Maidencombe provides one of the best views in South Devon. Due to the magestic Devon hills and glimmering sea, you get the perfect blend of a green landscape and magic water views.

Enter Cockington Country Park, you will feel like you have arrived in another world. In this beautiful UNESCO Saxon village you will be treated to thatched cottages, Cockington Court, craft studios, a large rose garden, a playground and one of the UK's oldest churches. You can walk through the narrow lanes, enjoy the beautiful fields and also visit the water mill. And don't forget to sit down for a Devonshire Cream Tea in Weavers Cottage before you leave. More>

The estate holds plenty of historic significance, with ties to World War II as well as the Napoleonic defence in the 18th century. We don't have to tell you that South Devon is full of beautiful beaches. Teignmouth beach is the ultimate playground for families, Blackpool Sands is known as one of the UK:s best beaches, Slapton Sands is perfect for a long stroll and Maidencombe beach is our local gem with easy access from Austiger House.
When it comes to walks and trails, there are plenty of choices to keep you active during your stay. The South West Coast Path runs just past Austiger House and gives you the opportunity to enjoy spectacular sea views. And if you want to spend more time in the forest, we can highly recommend Haldon Forest Park. Or perhaps explore Canonteign Falls which is South West England's highest water falls.
In Devon you really have the opportunity to connect with our furry friends. Be it farm animals on Occombe Farm or Pennywell Farm, or perhaps the slightly less tame animals in Dartmoor Zoo and Paignton Zoo? There are plenty of options and if you ask us, we also really enjoy supporting our local heroes running The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth and the Dartmoor Otter Sanctuary.
Devon is a mecca for the golf enthusiast. With an impressive 49 golf courses throughout the county, there are plenty of golf courses to choose from. Will you opt for the award winning Dartmouth Golf Club? Is the majestic Bovey Castle more your suit? Or do you prefer to keep it local and head to Torquay Golf Club, based only 5 min from Austiger House? The pick is all yours!
Did you know that you can find the UK's biggest fishing port in Devon? Brixham provides the whole nation with world class seafood and as you can expect, local restaurants will have the first (and best) pick. So whether you want to indulge in fish and chips from Mitch Tonk's The Rockfish, treat yourself to something more high end at The Elephant (awarded one Michelin Star) or prefer more traditional British food from The Orange Tree Restaurant, you will find dining experiences for every taste and age just a stone's throw away.
